Our Core Values
At Open Circle Church, we value:
A Sense of Community
We believe that the first task of a church is to warmly and joyfully welcome people into the family of God. Our small group life, our support group ministries, and our children and adult activities are all offered to help find a sense of place and belonging in our fragmented world.
Spiritual Growth
What God sees in each one of us is potential and promise, not failure and sin. We strive to reach that potential by engaging in dynamic worship, Bible study and prayer, and opportunities for service.
Service
When a portion of our life and resources is given for the good of others, life is better for them and for us.
Diversity
The beauty of God's creation can be found in the rich variety of cultures, histories, and lifestyles present in our world. We are enriched by these differences, and teach respect for them.
Our Denominational Heritage
Amid the many valid and wonderful expressions of faith in our world, we celebrate the unique heritage and witness of our own denomination, the Church of the Brethren. We believe that we have an understanding of life and God that has much to offer our world.
Reaching the Seekers
There are many people in our communities on a spiritual pilgrimage who have not yet found a home base. We offer them a place to call home while they walk the journey of faith.
Peace
The Bible teaches us that the final gift of Jesus to his followers was peace. Peace is not just an inner feeling; it is a way of life. We want to learn to live in peace and create peace—at home, at work, and in our world.
